25 years at the Stockholm Furniture Fair

Last year we exhibited on our 25th fair in a row at the Stockholm fair. It was the same highlight of the year as it usually is. We meet customers and colleagues and show what new furniture we have developed. A lot has happened since we started on the fair. From the beginning we always had help with the design of the stand from designers, although in the beginning we built the stand ourselves and realized for several years that it takes time for putty to solidify and paint to dry when there are almost minus degrees in the exhibition halls during the build-up.

We have exhibited in both the A and C halls over the years and we have seen how the contract side has become more and more important. We have had a stand open to the neighbouring exhibitor, we have had a booth all covered with curtains so you would be curious and peek in, the curtains were torn down after a couple of hours without visitors in the stand. We have had different locations on the fair over the years but now we have a more or less fixed location. Today we have our own stand floor which is reused every year at the fairs we attend. The fair walls in recent years have consisted of our acoustic wall Scale, which we have picked down after the fair and reused.

It started in 1995, we were delivering the auditorium chairs to the Victoria Hall at the Stockholm fair and we were asked if we would like to exhibit at the furniture fair. At this time, the furniture fair was more focused on home furniture and the contract companys had their showroom inside the city open during the fair. We took their proposal to the heart and participated. As the newest employee, Roger had to be at the stand most of the time while we in our showroom in Stockholm had an open house with smorgasbord. In 1995 the contract part of the fair was a small area in the A-hall under the name "Company C". We continued to exhibit at the fair and since 2003 we have focused on the fair only these days.
