Renovating vill be a big part of our future sustainability. We had the privilege to renovate the chairs at Flemingsbergs church which have been in the chapel since it opened in 1976. The church building was created by architect Gunnar Cedervall and the congregation has had the will to keep the church as true to the original as possible. There are 140 chairs and armchairs of the model S-312. The model was designed in early 60 ties by designer Axel Larsson. We still manufacture the model today..<\/p>\n

The chairs are made of birch, which is unusual as beech dominated as a wood at that time. They have withstood the test of time well, but the varnish had turned yellow and the synthetic web strap had lost its elasticity and looked grayish.<\/span><\/p>\n

The parish wanted to know if the chairs could be renovated and we agreed to redo the web strap and sand and re-varnish the chairs. It was thought that this would happen in stages so that one would not be left without seats. Then came the pandemic. The need for seating decreased with the restrictions and we received more chairs and were able to solve it faster. We are happy that the congregation is happy with the result and that they now have nice chairs that will stand for many more years.<\/span><\/p>\n

We have always helped with renovations, usually of our own models, but also from other manufacturers. <\/span><\/p>\n

We have our own factory in M\u00f6nster\u00e5s on the Sm\u00e5land coast and a network of skilled craftsmen and subcontractors in Sweden. We have stuck to making our models ourselves for the sake of know-how and flexibility.<\/span><\/p>\n

Model 312 was designed by Axel Larsson, but it was architect Rolf Bergh who came up with the idea to put web strap on the seat when he designed temporary churches and the model used in dining halls and schools began to be used in churches. Rolf Bergh spent a large part of his career designing and renovating churches.<\/p>\n

The web strap we use is in the same material as car seat belts, but with a different weave. It has a tensile strength of 400 kg and can be wiped off. Unlike natural saddle girth, it lasts a long time. The chair will be comfortable to sit on with a flexibility in the seat and low weight, to the delight of the staff moving the chairs aliund for different activities.<\/p>\n

The web strap is specially developed for the chair in a width of 60mm to fit the chair's dimensions. It takes 7 meters to upholster one chair. As it is a special weave, we have to order 10,000 meters of web strap every time we run out, which is enough for 1,400 seats. The strap is available in natural color and black. We also sell web strap for upholsterers who renovate 312 chairs as the weaving and width can not be found anywhere else.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"

Kyrkan ritades av arkitekt Gunnar Cedervall. Sj\u00e4lva kyrkorummet \u00e4r fyrkantigt och ing\u00e5ngen \u00e4r i ett h\u00f6rn och altaret i det motsatta h\u00f6rnet. F\u00f6rsamlingen \u00e4r stolta \u00f6ver sin kyrka som verkligen ligger mitt i byn, vid Flemingsbergs centrum.\r\n\r\nKyrkorummets tak har en lutning och \u00e4r som h\u00f6gst vid ing\u00e5ngen med ett stort ljusinsl\u00e4pp och som l\u00e4gst vid altaret. Det \u00e4r som gjort f\u00f6r att skapa fokus p\u00e5 altaret och den i furu skulpterade altartavlan av Per Nilsson \u00d6st. Mycket i kyrkan \u00e4r original, s\u00e5 \u00e4ven stolarna. Man har 140 stolar och karmstolar av modell S-312. Stolen formgavs p\u00e5 tidigt 60 tal av m\u00f6belformgivare Axel Larsson. Vi tillverkar modellen fortfarande.\r\n\r\nStolarna \u00e4r tillverkade i bj\u00f6rk, vilket \u00e4r ovanligt d\u00e5 bok dominerade som tr\u00e4slag vid den tiden. De har st\u00e5tt emot tidens tand v\u00e4l, men lacken hade gulnat och syntetsadelgjorden hade mist sin sp\u00e4nst och s\u00e5g gr\u00e5solkig ut.\r\n\r\nF\u00f6rsamlingen h\u00f6rde av sig om man kunde renovera stolarna och vi kom \u00f6verens om att ta bort sadelgjorden och slipa och lacka om stolarna. Det var t\u00e4nkt att detta skulle ske i omg\u00e5ngar s\u00e5 att man inte skulle st\u00e5 utan sittplatser. S\u00e5 kom pandemin. Behovet av sittplatser minskade med restriktionerna och vi tog emot fler stolar och kunde l\u00f6sa det snabbare. Vi gl\u00e4der oss \u00e5t att f\u00f6rsamlingen \u00e4r n\u00f6jd med resultatet och att de nu har fina stolar som kommer att st\u00e5 i m\u00e5nga \u00e5r till.\r\n\r\nHj\u00e4lpt till med renovering har vi alltid gjort, oftast av v\u00e5ra egna modeller, men \u00e4ven andras modeller.\r\n\r\nV\u00e5r fabrik finns i M\u00f6nster\u00e5s vid Sm\u00e5landskusten och vi har ett n\u00e4tverk av skickliga hantverkare och underleverant\u00f6rer i Sverige. Vi har h\u00e5llit fast vid att tillverka v\u00e5ra modeller sj\u00e4lva f\u00f6r kunnandet och flexibiliteten skull.\r\n\r\nInriktningen \u00e4r att tillverka h\u00e5llbara m\u00f6bler uteslutande f\u00f6r offentliga milj\u00f6er. Just h\u00e5llbarhet har blivit allt viktigare. Det tar 60 \u00e5r f\u00f6r en bj\u00f6rk att v\u00e4xa sig s\u00e5 stor att den kan anv\u00e4ndas till m\u00f6belvirke. Vi \u00e4r \u00f6vertygade att stolarna i Flemingsbergs kyrka kommer att klara det tidsspannet med marginal, det \u00e4r h\u00e5llbarhet.\r\n\r\nModellen 312 designade som sagt av Axel Larsson, men det var arkitekt Rolf Bergh som kom p\u00e5 id\u00e9n att s\u00e4tta sadelgjord p\u00e5 sitsen n\u00e4r han ritade vandringskyrkor och modellen som anv\u00e4nts i matsalar och skolor b\u00f6rjade anv\u00e4ndas i kyrkor. Rolf Bergh spenderade en stor del av sin yrkesbana med att rita och renovera kyrkor.\r\n\r\nSadelgjorden vi anv\u00e4nder \u00e4r i samma material som bilb\u00e4lten fast med en annan v\u00e4vning. Den har en dragh\u00e5llfasthet p\u00e5 400 kg och g\u00e5r att torka av. Till skillnad fr\u00e5n natursadelgjord s\u00e5 h\u00e5ller den sin sp\u00e4nst l\u00e4nge. Stolen blir bekv\u00e4m att s\u00e4tta p\u00e5 med en svikt i sitsen och mycket l\u00e4tt, till gl\u00e4dje f\u00f6r alla vaktm\u00e4stare.\r\n\r\nSadelgjorden \u00e4r speciellt framtagen f\u00f6r stolen i bredd 60mm f\u00f6r att passa till stolens m\u00e5tt. Det g\u00e5r \u00e5t 7 meter gjord till en stol. D\u00e5 det \u00e4r en specialv\u00e4vning m\u00e5ste vi best\u00e4lla \u00a0hem 10 000 meter sadelgjord varje g\u00e5ng vi f\u00e5r slut, vilket r\u00e4cker till en 1400 stolar. Gjorden finns i naturf\u00e4rgad och svart.
